Fin necrosis is a progressive necrotic disease of many fish species. Several bacteria have been implicated in the aetiology of the disease. To determine the bacteria associated with the disease in Baltic salmon, fish were sampled on hatcheries around the year. For determination of Aeromonas virulence, fish were artificially infected with A. salmonicidae and A. hydrophila.
