Heritability estimates for certain quantitative traits of eight sesame varieties
2009
Shah, S.G.
An experiment was conducted to asses the performance of eight commercial cultivars of sesame (Pr-100/2, Pr-19/9, K-509, S-17, Sehwan, S-117, Pr-125 and Pr-100/5) and the heritability of the yield and yield components. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The analysis of variance displayed highly significant differences (p less than or equal to 0.01) for days to 75% flowering, days to 90% maturity, plant height, number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, 1000 seed weight and grain yield per plant. Number of branches per plant were significant at P less than or equal to 0.05 only.
