Paper presents the analysis which was made on regional level, concerning the number and size of farms, structure of land use, structure of crops and the livestock density in these farms. For the preparation of this paper, the data from the Agricultural and Food Quality Inspection (GIJHAR-S) were used. The analysis showed that the organic farm is an average 3 times bigger than the average in the country and has a smaller share of arable land, but larger share of permanent pasture and orchards. The structure of production and the structure of sown area is better adapted to the principles of organic farming in certified farm than the farm during conversion. The paper showed the great regional diversity (the number of farms, their size and the area of agricultural land) of organic farming in Poland. Despite the dynamic development of organic farming after the Polish accession to the EU, in 2007 only less than 2 percent of agricultural area in country was used for organic farming, while an average for the EU-27 was 4,1 percent
