Estudio de los mecanismos moleculares implicados en el inicio del patrón de desarrollo embriogénico de la microspora en cereales

The potential of doubled haploid (DH) plants in breeding programs is well documented. Microspore embryogenesis is the most frequently method used for DH plant production in barley and bread wheat. In this Master, the molecular mechanisms involved on the initiation of the developmental pathway of microspore embryogenesis in barley and wheat, were studied. From a transcriptomic study, 1797 genes that were activated early in microspore embryogenesis, were selected. Thirteen different expression profiles were identified, two of them, grouped genes activated de novo and strongly at 4 days of culture. The expression of 12 selected genes was validated by Semiquantitative PCR. Genes activated at the initiation of microspore embryogenesis followed expression patterns associated to early seed development, young embryo, endosperm and root. Differences in gene expression were observed between lines with high and low embryogenic capacity in barley, and in wheat, and also between high embriogenic lines of barley and wheat
