From 26 cows of Holstein-Friesian, which had been excluded from production for different etiologic reasons, the udder was taken in order to monitor the changes that appeared in cow’s udder parenchyma. After macroscopic examination, the tops of papillae were taken to obtain an information on the thickness of a stratum cornum of ductus papillaris and the samples from the parenchyma size 1 square cm were used for further histological analysis. The thickness of stratum corneum in 104 ducuts papillaris varied from 90 to 370 microm. Histological examination of 104 cow’s udder parenchyma, 25 (24.04%) parenchyma had a very high leukocyte infiltration. Using statistical data processing the existence of negative correlation was observed, indicating that with increasing the thickness of the stratum corneum of ductus papillaris there was a decline in the leukocyte infiltrates in cow’s udder parenchyma. Our results indicate that stratum corneum of ductus papillaris influences the udder parenchyma.
