This paper present capabilities of the measuring device developed at the Centre for Machinery and Tools of the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade, Serbia. The device is used on laboratory work with students and scientific reaserch work. The measurements were conducted on combined milling machine on samples of beech wood dimensions 21x23x450 mm. During the examination the feed and cutting depth were changing, at a constant rpm work spindle, i.e. at a constant speed cutting. This paper presents the results of experimental measurements in order to display the capabilities and limitations of the measuring device.
