The investigated bacterial strains were isolated from ear and skin swabs, vaginal swabs, faeces, urine and eggs, obtained from healthy and diseased animals of various age and breed categories. The sum of 147 E. coli strains, 56 Salmonella strains and 38 Pseudomonas strains were isolated. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed with disc diffusion test, broth microdilution test, E test and ESBI test. The sum of 96 plasmids were isolated. The plasmids were isolated from 55 E. coli strains, 17 Salmonella strains and 24 Pseudomonas strains. The obtained approximate size values of isolated plasmids, expressed in base pairs were from 2 kb to 270 kb. The competent cells E. coli DH5alfa were transformed with isolated plamids and after the transformation process was finished, transformant cells were streaked on LB agar with antibiotics added. The visible growth of transformed bacteria meant that the competent cells have received DNA (plasmid) with the resistance gene for the antibiotic.
