Methodology for determining energy indicators necessary for potential analysis of rational energy usage in industrial processes is shown in this paper. Results of analysis are given for paper industry as an example of complex manufacturing process. Presented methodology is used for calculation of specific energy consumption (SEC) in comparative energy statistics performed by Serbian Industrial Energy Efficiency Network (SIEEN). As shown in paper SEC is as energy indicator good identifier of state change of both energetic and manufacturing technologies, but also indicator of efficiency management of the company resources.
