In order to research lycopene and neta carotene production depending on mineral macro-nutrition, an industrial tomato cv. Marko F1 has been used. Plants have been grown on substrate made from compost (75%) and zeolite (25%) and treated with mineral fertilizer solution: Haifa-Multi-K Mg, 12% N, 0%P, 43%K, 2%Mg, Haifa-Poly-feed ME, 11% nitrogen, 44% phosphorus and 11% of microelements, KP(K+P)-mixture of these two fertilizers, while the control has been treated with 12% of nitrogen. The lowest content of beta-carotene had treatment with the increased potassium content, which can be in connection with maturation process influenced by potassium ions, which means that the most of beta-carotene has been transformed to lycopene.
