Vegetative potential of plants of raspberry Willamette grown on different growing media and treated with different foliar fertilizers

Massive die out of plantings in full cropping has been evidenced over the past years. In that respect, a more intensive propagation of quality planting material is required. This presupposes meeting required criteria concerning not only health status of plants and their true-to-typeness but also their morphometric characteristics. In the line with it, at Fruit Research Institute, Čačak (Serbia), raspberry Willamette is propagated by in vitro micropropagation under fully controlled conditions. Over a two-year period of study, after acclimatization, plants were grown on two different growth media (Seedling and Steckmedium) and were treated with three different foliar fertilizers (Wuxal, Murtonik and Ferticare). A more intensive vegetative growth in terms of thickness of the plant basal section and aboveground plant height was evidenced in plants grown on Seedling medium, whereas the foliar fertilizers Murtonik and Wuxal had the strongest effect on thickness and plant height respectively. In the line with regular plant growth dynamics, plant thickness was higher in the second year of study, whereas plant height was significantly higher in the first year of study.
