The impact of pesticides on eco-balance, which became obvious during the sixties of the twentieth century, has drawn attention of researchers on the need to monitor concentration of pesticides in the work environment, in order to prevent their negative impact on the people who have any kind of contact with these chemical compounds. Technical application of pesticides is of special importance for both the soil and the work environment. Since the majority of pesticides are classified as dangerous substances, the people who work in agriculture are the most numerous professionally exposed group. Paradoxically, in the domestic agricultural production, especially on private estates, most modern pesticides are applied with obsolete devices. In order to minimize the impact of organizational omissions in the field of occupational safety and health protection, there is a need for establishment and implementation of procedures for classification and controlled application of pesticides, health risk assessment and monitoring. The quality management systems ISO 9000 and ISO 18000 clearly emphasize the importance of human resources management, focusing on training and individual awareness. The staff training in safe and healthy operations is an important segment of workplace risk management, and represents a preventive measure in health protection, which is also regulated by law. The system ISO 10015 provides a well-defined training process which helps an organization to plan and estimate the training efficiency in order to systematically improve the staff potential.
