Changes of microorganism (MO) number at different levels of benzopyrene (BP) pollution at a laboratory are determined and their impact on a content of different forms of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) is assessed. Solutions of BP at concentrations of 1, 2, 3, 4 mkg/100 g were added into vessels with 400 g of sod-podzolic loamy soil in each of them. The following groups of MO are identified and they form the follow range according their resistance to BP: the ones using mineral forms of nitrogen ammonifying celluloselytic (CL) saccharolytic. Applying of lower doses of BP (the maximum effect is fixed at 1 mkg/100g) leads to a sharp decrease MO number. Only CL MO are characterized by a gradual decrease of their number at increasing doses of BP, that allows to use them for a diagnosis. MO have destructed a quantitative ratio of PAH. At a dose of BP 1 mkg/100 g amount of chrysene increases, at high doses of BP number of benzofluoranten increases. A species diversity of fungi has decreased from 21 to 3 at doses of BP of 1-2 mkg/100g. Their redistribution occurs according a degree of dominance: Fusarium moniliforme rarely found in the control sample and the dominant species Penicillium camemberti transfer into the categories of dominant and rare species respectively. These species are the most resistant to all levels of BP pollution. The species which are not characteristic for the soil, but namely Paecilomyces, Cladosporium and Gliocladium appear and became dominant ones at a dose of BP of 3-4 mkg/100 g. Thus, species of the genus Paecilomyces and Fusarium moniliforme are considered to be indicators of soil pollution (for the high doses (3-4 mkg/100 g) of BP in soil).
