Evaluation of efficacy of three neonicotinoid insecticides for the control of aphid and jassid on potato

Three neonicotinoid insecticides viz., Proteus OD 110 (thiacolprid+ deltamethrin), Mospilan (acetamiprid) 20% SP and Platinum (thiamethoxam) 240 SC were evaluated for their efficacy against cotton aphid (Aphis gossypii) and cotton jassid (Jacobaisca lybica) on potato. The foliar applications of these insecticides during seasons 2004/05 and 2005/06 were significantly effective in reducing aphid and jassid populations compared with the untreated control. Moreover, the performance of all tested insecticides was comparable to the standard insecticides (Actara)
