Free radical scavenging capacity, tyrosinase inhibition activity and total phenolics content of indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica Linn.) from four regions in Thailand including Kanchanaburi, Buriram, Prachuapkhirikhan and Mahasarakham provinces were determined. The crude extract of indian gooseberry using ethyl acetate solvent was semi-solid, dark green or brown in color, sticky and specific odor. The percent yield of indian gooseberry extract from Prachuapkhirikhan, Kanchanaburi, Mahasarakham and Buriram were 2.32 percent, 1.87 percent, 1.28 percent and 0.95 percent, respectively. The amount of total phenolics content were 597+-18.8, 345+-13.1, 494 +-19.5 and 496+-5.51 mg GAE/g dry weight, respectively. After that the free radical scavenging capacity of Indian gooseberry extracts were assayed by DPPH method shown that SC50 value were 0.025+-0.002, 0.037+-0.002, 0.030+-0.001 and 0.032+-0.001 mg/ml. Furthermore tyrosinase inhibition activity (IC50) were 0.403+-0.055, 0.293+-0.051, 0.710+-0.026 and 0.151+-0.072 mg/ml.
