In IMSA Troyan during the 2003-2008 period, an evaluation of the suitability of sour cherry cultivars Keleris 14 and Keleris 16 for biological fruit production was performed. Under the specific conditions of the region associated with increased humidity and sharp fluctuations in climatic factors and the requirements of the regulations for biological production without use of chemical means for disease control, there was increased susceptibility to key fungus diseases of sour cherry. The trees were defoliated early and fruit quality strongly deteriorated. It was reported that cultivars Keleris 14 and Keleris 16 are not suitable for inclusion in biological production due to the impossibility to be grown in conditions of reduced plant protection.
