In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was given a comparative characteristic of fishery and economic traits (average body weight, survival rate, fish productivity, and feeding ratio) of fingerling of seven collection species of carp (Cyprinus carpio). There was given analysis of resistance of purebred carp to inflammation of a swim bladder. Also there were presented results of mass selection among fingerlings of different imported fish species (Yugoslav; German; sarboyan carp; Fresinet, as well as mirror lines of Lakhvinskycarp and layers of Izobelinsky carp and common carp (Cyprinus carpio haematopterus Temminck et Schlegel)). In course of the study there were presented results of rearing of fingerlings of different origin; the average weight and average yield of fingerlings of different breeds. For the first time in Belarus there was collected although a rather small, but a rather diverse genetic material of a carp (all in all there were 2 thousand specimens of producers and adult replacement specimen). The available carp breeds in case of sufficient breeding could be used both for breeding works and for rearing in production conditions, as well as for production of carp crosses with the expressed heterotic effect.
