In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was studied qualitative and quantitative feeding characteristic of mixed-age catfish (Silurus glanis) in the process of rearing in fish-breeding ponds. In course of the study there was given qualitative and quantitative characteristic of feeds of catfish fingerlings in rearing ponds; some characteristic of fingerlings feeding; peculiar feature of two-year and three-year old catfish diets. Research results showed high rate of growth and indexes of fullness of stomach proved on sufficient supply with natural forage of mixed-age catfish in the process of rearing in Belarusian ponds. In the beginning of the season the feeding of young fish was based on zooplankton and insects (Chydorus sphaericus; Daphnia longispina; Arcella sp.; Ostrocoda sp.), next in addition to them in the second half of the season there was used fishfood the average ratio of which in the catfish diet was 47%. Two- and three-year old catfish except representatives of local ichthyofauna fed with amphibians and insects, and as a result furthered to the increasing of the natural capacity of ponds.
