In course of the research there was determined morphological and biochemical blood indexes of breeding bull calves at use in their diets of various levels of selenium. The experimental part of work was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus at the Republican unitary agricultural enterprise 'Orsha Breeding Enterprise in Vitebsk region on breeding bull-calves of black-motley breed in summer and winter periods. As a result of realized research it was revealed that introduction in a diet of selenium of 0.4 mg per 1 kg of a dry matter of a diet during the winter and summer periods promoted increasing the quantity of blood erythrocytes on 7.9 and 3.9%, hemoglobin - on 4.4 and 5.6% and glucose - on 5.2 and 8.0% on comparison with the control group. Use of premix with inclusion of selenium in an optimum dose during the winter and summer periods made it possible to increase the content of crude protein by 8.1 and 8.3% (Р less than 0,05), albuminous - on 4.1 and 2.2%, gamma-globulin - on 3.3 and 1.6% in comparison with control group. Application of the organic form of selenium in feeding of breeding bull calves in a dose of 0.4 mg/kg dry matter promoted increase of blood copper on 28.9 (Р less than 0,001) and 13.7% (Р less than 0.05), manganese - on 6.2 (Р less than 0.05) and 14.9%, cobalt - on 5.8 and 9.3%, zinc - on 4.9 and 11.2% (Р less than 0.05), selenium - on 16.1 (Р less than 0.001) and 14.8% (Р less than 0.01) in comparison with analogues of the control group.
