Resistance of mirror carp (Cyprinus carpio) underyearlings to swim bladder inflammation was studied in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. In course of the three-year study of underyearlings of cross-bred and pure breeds there was marked a stable regularity in advanced features of breeding resistant to swimming bladder inflammation underyearlings which were obtained from parents which did not have swimming bladder inflammation at the year of breeding. On the contrary, if at least of one parental crosses showed manifestation of acute form of the disease on the first year of life, the disease was marked at its posterity. In course of three-year studies out of 17 experimental groups of different origin there were chosen (for the further breeding work) 4 complicated crosses and 3 families of mirror carps resistant to swimming bladder inflammation. Moreover, there were marked crossing combinations the posterity of which at the first year of life had low extensity of chronic form of swimming bladder inflammation. Consequently, at present there was created heterogenic replacement stock of mirror carps of different origin which was resistant to the disease.
