In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was studied dynamics of malacofauna development at ponds free of black carps (Mylopharyngodon piceus Rich) (control ponds) and at ponds inhabitat with black carps (experimental ponds). In course of the study there was shown influence of black carp on number and biomass of mollusks. There was marked preferability of black carps to definite types and sizes of mollucs. Research results showed molluscs (Mollusca) influenced on its number and biomass. There was high number of mollusks (Planorbis planorbis, Planorbis curneus, Planorbis complanatus, Limnaea ovata, Limnaea stagnalis, Limnaea turricula, Bithynia tentaculata, Pisidium pisidium, Viviparus vivparus, Valvata cristata, Sphaerium rivicola) in control ponds (free of black carps). It was shown high meliorative influence of black carps on malacofauna. Two- years-old black carps were fed at temperature of 8-10 deg C. With the growing black carps prefer eating larger molluscs (0.88-1.80 g). Of all mollusc species which were presculed in the control and experimental ponds black carp fish preferred the following: Planorbis corneus, Limnaea stagnalis, Viviparus viviparus, Planorbis planorbis. Biomass of molluscs in the experimental ponds was on 6 g/square meter less than in the control ones.
