Fabrics are an essential tool for the decorator, for their great qualities like: the material, the colour and the shape. Curtains are not a luxury element in the decoration of the house but they are so important since they are used to cover every spot in the house not only for the decoration but also to decrease the annoying light or give the house the privacy. Now there is a lack for taking a good care about the quality of the fabrics as it evaluated subjectively, and not depend on the laboratory objective measurements. For these reasons it is important to study the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of the curtain fabrics, to. Consequently the main aims of this work are to recognize on the commercial make it easy for the user to choose and execute a developed design from the best qualities types of curtain fabrics in the local market and measure its properties. Also executing a simple developed apparatus to measure the fabric drapability as it is the most important property in this study. Then use the best fabrics to execute a creative curtain designs . The most important results which have been obtained are as follows:- There is a high correlation between the results of the executive fabric drape tester and the commercial tester which proove the competence of the developed apparatus. The aesthetic shape of the creative curtain designs are achieved by choosing the suitabe fabric properties required to this end - use.
