The extension knowledge needs of graduates wheat farmers in Al-Zawya area, Kafr El-Sheikh governorate and predictive values of some related variables

This study was carried out at three villages, which were selected randomly from among the six villages consisting AI-Zawya area of Kafr el-Sheikh governorate, They were Mustafa, Qadisiyah, and Tebah Data were collected from random sample of 175 graduates from the wheat farmers through personal interviews based on pretested questionnaire during the month of February 2010. This research aimed mainly to identify the knowledge needs for graduates wheat farmers of the information on : a- the operations of the pre-crop wheat bagricultural operations during the Growth season of wheat crop c- fungal and viral diseases that affect wheat plants In addition to determine the contribution of some independent variables which have significant correlation relationship in interpreting knowledge needs for graduates wheat farmers for three categories of information The results of the study indicated that 1- the knowledge needs for graduates wheat farmers to the total information relating to the pre-crop wheat was relatively low, and four of the studied variables have significant contribution in the inter prated total significant. the knowledge needs for graduates wheat farmers to the total information relating to the agricultural operations during the growing season of wheat crop was relatively moderate, and three of the studied variables have significant contribution in the inter prated total significant 3- the knowledge needs for graduates wheat farmers to the total information relating to the total information related to fungal and viral diseases that afflict wheat plants was relatively high and three of the studied variables have significant contribution in the inter prated total significant In light of previous results it is clear that the variables responsible for the interpretation of the whole variance of the scores needed knowledge for graduates wheat farmers of the information each of the areas of information of the three studied was different from the other, which requires from the planners and implementers of programs of agricultural extension for graduates wheat farmers in each of the central administration of agricultural extension crops research Institute for Agricultural research center to emphasize on the variables which have significant effects.
