To obtain genotypes with desirable agronomic characteristics such as cold tolerance, high yield and adapted to coldness climatic regeon and automn planting recommendation, these experiments were conducted by using two series of seeds from ICARDA containing 40 lines along with susceptible check (ILL 533) in randomized complete block design (RCBD) at 2 replications. The lines were planted on two rows with 2 meters length and 45 centimeters width each year. Land preparing contained cultivation and disk in late September, the lines and varieties were planted in mid October.Weed controlling, we recorded the number of plants before onset of severe winter (PC1) and after the winter is over (PC2), cold severity at different stages of cold occurrence (CTR1, CTR2), 50% flowering (DF), plant height (PH), plant type, maturity (DM), Ascochyta blight (AB) disease, seed yield (YID) and 100-seed weight (100SW). Two rows were harvested. According to cold tolerance of treatments in Urmia at the first year the lines of FLIP 03-5C, FLIP 03-6C, FLIP 03-84C, FLIP 03-80C and FLIP 98-16C respectively had cold tolerance which were completely superior to check and in Maragheh the lines FLIP 02-69C and FLIP 03-11C showed good cold tolerance. Results from analysis of variance for different characters in CICTN-07 at the second year in Urmia indicated that there were significant differences between treatments for PC2, CTR1, CTR2 and YID. Results showed that in CICTN-08 there were significant differences between treatments for PC2, CTR2.DF and YID. At the same time in Maragheh just 8 lines showed acceptable cold tolerance.
