In this study isolates of Rhizoctonia were obtained from all rice fields in Iran. Two methods used for identification of isolates: 1) determination of nuclei number in cells 2) determination of anastomosis group affinity, Hyphal anastomosis is a manifestation of somatic or vegetative incompatibility between isolates. The observations of this study showed three provinces in the North of Iran have the most isolates of R. solani. 157 isolates from Gilan(all of them were AGI-IA), 137 isolates from Mazandaran (134 AGI-IA isolates, 3 AGB-b isolates), 73 isolates from Golestan(49 AGI-IA isolates, 14 AGB-b isolates and 10 AG-D isolates). The kind of anastomosis group in other provinces were : Zanjan(7 AGB-b isolates, 24 AG-D isolates), Azarbayjan sharghi (5 AGB-b isolates, 6 AG-D isolates), Isfahan(37 AGB-b isolates), Khorasan(6 AGB-b isolates ,19 AG-D isolates), Khoozestan(10 AGB-b isolates, 14 AG-D isolates) and Lorestan (11 AGB-b isolates, 4 AG-D isolates. These isolates were collected by medium and long storage methods in ABRII gene bank. The anastomosis groups distribution of each province drawed in the map of them. These results can be useful for other researcher.
