In order to determine the proper rapeseed cultivars as second crop in paddy fields of Guilan province, this experiment was carried out at paddy fields of Rice Research Institute of Iran in Rasht during 2005-2007 cropping seasons. The experiment was conducted in complete randomized block design with three replicates using fourteen rapeseed cultivars. The results of the combined analysis of variance showed that significant difference exists between rapeseed cultivars in most traits. Mean comparison of yield showed that Hyola 330 with average of 3400 Kg/ha and Hyola 401 with average of 3298 Kg/ha had maximum grain yield and were in the same class. Hyola 330 was in the first rank in siliques length, 1000-seed weight and oil percent. Hyola 401 showed maximum silique number per plant. In early maturity, Hyola 308 with average of 198 days for maturity was in the first rank. The highest oil yield was observed for the cultivars Hyola 330, Hyola 420 and Hyola 401 with average of 1523, 1458 and 1445 Kg/ha, respectively and they were in the same class. Base on the results, Hyola 401 is suggested as better cultivar for planting in paddy fields of Guilan provinc due to high grain and oil yields, resistance to lodging and early maturity (205 days) and Hyola 308 can be used in the regions with early rice planting date.
