Rhizomania is one of the more devastating of all sugar beet diseases. Infections with this disease can lead to severe losses in root yield (RY) and sugar content (SC). In this research, effect of rhizomania disease was investigated on some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of many commercial cultivars in the Fars and Khorasan agricultural and natural resources research center. In addition to, each cultivar root was scored according to a rhizomania disease index (DI). In three experiments were done in Shiraz, 7R26, 7R27, 7R19, Isella, Aligator, HI0511, 5K43 and 7KO3 cultivars produced the most SY and WSY. This cultivars classified in a group for SY and WSY. Disease score (assessed on a 1-9 scale of resistance score) indicated that the highest level of resistance (DI¡Ü3) were to be found in mention cultivars. In three experiments were done in Khorasan, DS4047, 7R26 and Dioneta HI0152 cultivars produced the most RY and DS4047, 7R26 and 7KO3 cultivars produced the most WSY. About disease index, Dorothea, Pauletta, Premire, Laetitia and 7KO3 cultivars showed the highest resistance to rhizomania. In total, in six experiments were done in Shiraz and in Khorasan, 7R26 and 7KO3 cultivars gained better result than others.
