Characterization, regeneration and evaluation of cultivated and wild flax germplasm of National Plant Gene Bank of Iraný.

The cultivated and wild germplasm collection of flax in National Plant Gene Bank of Iran, was evaluated for morphological characteristic based on IPGRI in Karaj and West Azerbaijan province based on IPGRI descriptors. The characters of 37 cultivated accessions were evaluated in a randomized block design and the results showed significant differences between genotypes on yield, biomass, harvest index, height, branch length, capsule number, 1000 seeds weight and oil content. These variations can be used for breeding of cultivated flax. In wild flaxes with 198 accessions by using of different treatments, the accessions were germinated and 30 accessions finally produced completed plants. After preparing herbarium samples, their species were defined.
