Iran is located in the arid and semiarid region of the world. Inorder to use water resources more efficient and to compare sprinkler irrigationwith furrow irrigation and also investigating flactuation of the population of insect pests and diseases of sugarbeet this study was conducted from 1996 to 1999 at the Safi abad agricultural research center of Dezful, Iran. Three different fields were chosen and the physical and chemical propertis of their soil were determined. Each field was irrigated by one of the furrow, sprinkler and center pivot irrigation system. Sugarbeet was planted and grown according to the procedures followed by the growers. The fields were irrigated according to the moisture deficiency of the soil.
