In order to determine yield and its stability in newly bred sunflower hybrids produced in the Department of Oilseed Crops Breeding, SPII, Iran, 15 new sunflower hybrids along with Azargol and Allstar hybrids as checks were evaluated in 2008 and 2010 in six different stations in Iran. In each location, these hybrids were planted in a complete block design arrangement with four replications, and days to flowering, days to maturity, plant height, capitol diameter, oil percentage, 1000 seed weight, and plot yield were recorded. Analysis of variance revealed significant differences among the hybrids as well as hybrids and parents. There were significant interactions between hybrids and years and also between hybrids and locations as well as the triple interaction, which suggests that the hybrids have not presented a stable yield. Likewise, some hybrids were better suited for specific climates.
