Studies on the growing period and nutritive value of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan(l>)) were carried out in Korean natural condition to exploit forage crop. Pigeonpea CV H-77216 was seeded on May 15, 1985 by 60cm x 15cm distances. Harvesting treatments for forage started from first flowering stage of pigeonpea plant and 7 times after with 2 weeks intervals. The plant height showed 115.7cm at first flowering stage on July 23 and 248.5cm at final harvesting stage on October 17 and number of branches per plant showed 10 branches at first flowering stage and they were rapidly increased up to 6 weeks after first flowering. The dry matter yields of pigeonpea plants were increased depending on the development of growing stage as 3,045kg/ha at first flowering stage, 9,587kg/ha at 8 weeks after first flowering and 11,601kg/ha at final development of growing stage as 100% at first flowering stage, 65% at 8 weeks after first flowering and 61% at final harvesting stage.
