The investigation dealt with effects of nitrogen nutrition on winter rape in agricultural and ecological conditions of Kosovo (Yugoslavia). The experimental variants were , N30 (control), N130, N150, N170, N190, N210, N230, N250, N270, and N290 kg/ha. The highest yield of seed and oil was obtained with the quantity of 210 kg/ha of N. The highest oil content was obtained with 130 kg/ha of N. The investigated doses had a significant effect upon the oil percentage with the "Girita" variety. The oil content increased up to doses of 210 kg/ha of N and decreased with application of higher doses. Optimum nitrogen doses for rape in the investigated conditions were 150-230 kg/ha of N.
