By the length of their vegetation period, the examined red pepper populations can be ranked as medium-maturing ones. During the vegetation, from 62.81 (in Slatka duga population) to 82.12 (in Blag piper population) flowers are formed. The investigated populations form rather big flowers. The fruit number per plant at industrial maturity varies from 11.76 (in Slatka zolta population) to 20.99 (in Stajkovski kavardzik). Yielding ability per plant varied from 792.30 g (Blag piper) to 559.40 g (Stajkovski kavardzik). This property is the most constant in Stajkovski kavardzik. The yield per ha was from 56.738 kg/ha (Blag piper) to 41.015 kg/ha (Stajkovski kavardzik). The investigated populations can be ranked as medium-high-stemmed peppers. They are characterized by medium-large leaves and belong to medium-large pepper subspecies (ssp. macrocarpum var. Longum Sendt.). Fruit index (length and width ratio) in these populations varied from 2.77 to 5.34. Pericarp thickness was 2.17 to 3.59. Total sugars make the greatest part of the dry matter. Vitamin C content was the lowest in Blag piper and the highest in Slatka dolga population.
