It was found that intercropping soybean with corn at the rate of 25 percent soybean and 75 percent corn based on the total area, produced highest production of corn and soybean, and gave rise to the highest LER value. The yield of soybean in this treatment was highest as compared to the other intercropping treatments. When soybean was grown as the first crop and soybean, mungbean, peanut and corn were planted as the second crop in the relay planting and sequential cropping manner, it was found that relay planting peanut 25 days before harvesting soybean gave highest return under irrigated system. In growing soybean after rice in Central Plain of Thailand, it was found that tillage practice was necessary before planting soybean due to the fact that soil was heavy clay in nature. Tillage provided drainage and stimulated better root growth, thus, subsequently increased the yield of soybean. The relationship between soil-moisture percentage and plant stand of soybean revealed that soil moisture was the most important factor for soybean emergence and successful establishment of soybean after rice.
