The effect of application of some growth regulators on pod setting and seed yield in broad bean [Egypt].

This work was performed at Sabahia Horticultural Research Station, in winter seasons of 1986 and 1987 to study the response of two cultivars of broad beans (Corbrosi and Aqudels) to the foliar application of Kinetin and 4-CPA. The results showed that the cultivars differed significantly in number of pods per plant, weight of individual dry pod and seed weight per dry pod. No differences were found in seed index, seed yield per plant and threshing percentage. 4-CPA at 75 ppm, and kinetin at 20 ppm gave the significantly greater number of pods per plant, seed weight per dry pod, weight of individual dry pod and seed yield per plant.
