Whereas the transformation process is clearly continuing in the four advanced Central and East European Countries (CEE-4), it proceeds very slowly, particularly in Russia and Ukraine. Agricultural incomes remain low, but losses by farms in the CEE-6 region in the 1994, agricultural subsidies remain low in the CEE. Protective measures against imports of food and other agricultural products have increased in some contries.
