Rio-Konferenz Umwelt und Entwicklung - zwei Jahre danach. Was tut das BMZ?
1994

Development-policy cooperation focuses on those sectors addressed by Agenda 21 (Environmental Protection and Conservation of Natural Resources; Tropical Forests; Education and Water). Debt-reduction packages have released funds in the national currency which the country concerned is to use entirely for environmental protection (equivalent to DM 80 Million in 1994 alone). The negotiations concerning the convention for desertification control have been completed; in Barbados meanwhile, an action programme geared to the sustainable development of small, emerging island states has been agreed on, thus setting the stage for future development cooperation with island states.
