Parameters were measured of testicles and epididymis in 202 hybrid boars of the synthetic line SL 98 (Belgian Landrace x Duroc) at the age of seven to eight months. At the same time the main parameters of ejaculate were observed at the same age and after half a year's and a year's utilization of the boars for insemination purposes, including the parameters of gestation and fertility. At the age of seven to eight months positive but low conclusive or highly conclusive phenotypic correlations were found in the values of rp = 0,16 to rp = 0,27 between the spermatozoid cocentration, total number speratozoids in ejaculate and the initial movement of spermatozoids to the length of the left and the right testicle. After half a year's utilization of boars for insemination purposes all the testicle parameters obtained at the age of seven to eight months were in conclusive or highly conslusive positive but, again low correlations to rp = 0,22 to the spermatozoid concentration and to the total number of spermatozoids in ejaculate. After a year's utilization of the boars for insemination purposes a relation was found to the testicle parameters at the age of seven to eight months only for the total number of spermatozoids in a conclusive but, again, low correlation to the length, width and volume of the left testicle. The other correlations were not conclusive; these were the correlations between testicle parameters in the age of seven to eight months and other ejaculate parameters observed and fertility results at different ages, i.e. between the incidence of morphological changes of spermatozoids, percentage of gestation after the first insemination and the total number of all piglets born and the number of live-born piglets.
