Spawning of Meretix meretrix was induced, successfully, by injection of 0.5-1 ml., 0.1 N NH4OH. Specimens with mature gonad spawned within 30 minutes after injection. Average number of egg per one female was 200,000. Size of the eggs were 70-80 mu. Eggs were surrounded by 130 mu. of mucus membrane. Apprdximately 3 percent of eggs were hatch out to be free swimming larvae, and it took 7-8 days before setting. Larvae were fed by Isochrysis galbana at the rate of 1x104 to 5x104 cells/ml. Size of larvae were 0.3-0.5 mm., 0.8-1.0 mm., 3.0-6.0 mm., 6.0-8.0 mm. for three weeks, one month, two months and three months old larvae respectively.
