The agrotechnical requirements of potatoes such as a suitable type of soil provided with the necessary nutrients, a proper humus content and pH are explained. The role of crop rotation and correct tillage technology is discussed. The necessity of soil analysis for the choice of corresponding fertilizers is emphasized.
