Pengaruh jenis frame pengokonan dan kepadatan populasi ulat sutra (Bombyx mori L.) per-sasag terhadap kualitas kokon yang dihasilkan.

A research to find out the effect of design of cocooning frames and density of silkworm population on quality of cocoon yield was carried out in the Center of Silkworm Breeding (PPUS) Candiroto-Temanggung and the Laboratory of Entomology in the Department of Plant Pest and Disease, Faculty of Agriculture Padjadjaran University from November 1999 to February 2000. The result of this experiment showed that the density of silkworm population significantly affected the cocoon shell weight and silk contents percentage, design of cocooning frames significantly affected the good cocoon percentage and interactions between design of cocooning frames and density of silkworm population significantly affected the cocoon shell weight and the good cocoon percentage. The bamboo and plywood cocooning frames produce a better the good cocoon percentage than seriframe. The lowest cocoon shell weight and silk contents percentage was obtained from D4 (350 silkworms).

Suatu penelitian dengan maksud untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis frame pengokonan dan kepadatan populasi ulat sutra per-sasag terhadap kualitas kokon yang dihasilkan telah dilakukan di pusat pembibitan ulat sutra (PPUS) Candiroto - Temanggung dan di Laboratorium Entomologi Jurusan Ilmu Hama dan Penyakit Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran dari bulan Nopember 1999 sampai dengan bulan Pebruari 2000. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan populasi ulat berpengaruh terhadap berat kulit kokon dan persentase kandungan sutra, sedang jenis frame pengokonan berpengaruh terhadap persentase kokon normal, serta interaksi kedua faktor tersebut berpengaruh terhadap berat kulit kokon dan persentase kokon normal. Jenis frame pengokonan dari bambu dan triplek menghasilkan persentase kokon normal yang lebih baik dibanding seriframe dan kepadatan populasi ulat 350 ekor per sasag menghasilkan berat kulit kokon persentase kandungan sutra terendah.
