The study of the length of the service period and its effect on the fertility of sows at the following farrowing, has shown the following: The length of the service period between two consecutive farrowings does not have a significant effect on the number of liveborn piglets in the following farrowing, i.e. the differences in the number of liveborn piglets between individual groups of sows, based on the length of the service period in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th litters, were not significant.
