The economics of cape tulip control in Western Australia -a cost benefit analysis.
1988
Roberts E.J. | Hector J.M.
Cape tulip (Homeria spp.) is a major pasture weed. To determine whether controlling this weed is economical, the following benefit cost analysis was completed. As little information regarding Cape tulip exists, farmer workshops were conducted in the region and a follow up survey was sent to the same farmers. The base analysis indicated that controlling Cape tulip in all shires except Narrogin was economically justifiable. When a sensitivity analysis was completed the overall result did not change for any of the shires. Consequently it could be concluded that the outcome was not sensitive to change and therefore acceptable.
