Английский. Two approaches for studying the dispersion of a passive tracer in a porous medium are proposed as alternatives to the difficult use of analytic solutions. The first one consists of using the lattice BGK model to determine the advection and diffusion components of the flow, while the second also uses the lattice BGK model to calculate the velocity field of the flow but, unlike the former, it employs the random walk model to characterize the diffusion. Both alternatives permit, fairly easily when compared to the analytical solutions, the obtention of the dispersion pattern of the tracer, giving rise to similar results, although the versatility of the BGK-random walk model is greater than the BGK model alone, as there is no limitation whatever in the value of the diffusion constant it is wished to simulate, but at the same time this first approach is lesser accurate than the second one as it can be checked when the result of the simulation corresponding to the Taylor-Aris dispersion are compared with the analytic solution.

La dispersi.n de un trazador inerte en un medio poroso es analizada mediante dos aproximaciones num.ricas como alternativa a la dif.cil adaptaci.n de soluciones anal.ticas para describir problemas complejos. La primera de ellas se basa en el modelo de malla BGK para describir las componentes advectiva y difusiva del flujo mientras que la segunda usa el campo de velocidades determinado por la primera, describiendo la difusi.n con el modelo del camino aleatorio. Los patrones de dispersi.n del trazador son obtenidos de forma sencilla con ambas alternativas, siendo los resultados similares. La aproximaci.n BGK-camino aleatorio es m.s vers.til que la que emplea .nicamente el modelo BGK ya que no tiene limitaci.n alguna en la simulaci.n de la constante de difusi.n aunque tiene el inconveniente de una menor precisi.n como se demuestra al comparar sus resultados en la descripci.n de la dispersi.n de Taylor-Aris con la soluci.n anal.tica.
