Article deals with the results of research devoted to study of influence of the different agricultural engineering methods on winter hardiness of red clover (Trifolium pratense) and its yield. It is found that the number of clover cutting during the first year of utilization of grasses, methods and terms of mowing including last (autumn) one, and availability of timothy grass (Phleum pratense) as component have a great influence on winter hardiness of red clover. These factors should be taken into account when placing red clover into crop rotation and its utilization during two years cycle.
