The influence of 5 plant growth inhibitors on the acceleration of potato microtuber yield formation in vitro was studied. A semiearly genotype LH-85 grown on MS-medium was chosen for testing. 25-days old plants prolifered from in vitro cuttings were added the saccharose solution (8 percent) together with different doses of inhibitors (ABA 0.5 mg.l-1, CCC 100 mg.l-1, DCIB-Na 100 mg.l-1, DCIB-Na 100 mg.l-1, coumarin 25 mg.l-1, paclobutrazol 0.5 mg.l-1). After 26 days of cultivation in dark at 21 degrees centigrade coumarin and paclobutrazol significantly increased the percentage of tuberizing plants, number of tubers and the average and total weight of microtubers in comparison with the control. Tubers formed on plants treated by paclobutrazol had significantly less variability of weight than tubers induced by coumarin. Plants treated by paclobutrazol produced microtubers already in the 1st week after filling up the inductive solution. In the other variants tuberization began in the 3rd and 4th weeks.
