Performance of exotic sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) [in Bangladesh].

Eight advanced exotic sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) entries including one check were studied to evaluate their performance under Bangladesh condition. All the characters studied except days to maturity showed high values of heritability and moderate to high genetic advance. Yield/plant showed positive correlation with panicle length and number of grains/panicle. The entries, S- 100/B(a), S-4055(a), S-159(a), S-159 and S-182/3 gave significantly higher yield than the check variety Martinmillow. S- 182/3 produced the highest number of grains/panicle and S-100/B(a) the longest panicle.
