Observations relatives a un curieux habitat d' Atheta (Mocyta) clientula (Erchson, 1839) et de quelques autres especes peu communes (Coleoptera Staphylinidae).

Bruge H.
The author has established that, several years in succession, the Staphylinid beetle Atheta (Mocyta) clientula (ER) was present in number, from a few tens to about 1000 specimens, in the thick layer of damp, dead leaves from Salix fragilis, that accumulate in the cornice of a little farm, at Ellezelles (Province Hainaut, Belgium). Some others, uncommon Staphilinids were present too in the same layer: Atheta (Anopleta puberula (SHARP), Atheta (Mocyta) orbata (ER.) and Phyllodrepa (Dropephylla) ioptera (STEPH.). A few hundreds specimens of this last species were also dicovered in cushions of mosses, on a 20 square meter roof of asbesth-cement ripple plates. Hypothesis are presented regarding the reasons of the presence in such a number of these rather uncommon species in these particular environments.
