Otpornost i priroda otpornosti boranije i pasulja prema Pseudomonas phaseolicoli (Burkholder) Dowson.

A study on the nature of resistance to Pseudomonas phaseolicoli in several genotypes of green beans and beans indicated that the morphoanatomical structure, primarily the number of stomata per leaf, should not be considered a resistance factor. It appears that physiological and biochemical processes in certain P. vulgaris varieties determine their resistance. After inoculation, P. phaseolicoli multiplies in the leaf tissue of susceptible and resistant plants alike, but much more intensively in the former case. In the tissue of the susceptible varieties, the bacterium continues to multiply which brings about the occurrence of a dark green, watery zone around the infection site. In the tissue of the resistant varieties, there occurs a dark necrotic spot which does not expand. Two P. phaseolicoli races were registered in the Yugoslav bean-growing regions (Vojvodina Province).
