Three varieties were used: Koruna - very early, table, Krasa - very early, table, Javor - late, industrial. At a standard row spacing of 75 cm, the following distances between hills were tested: 15, 21, 29 and 40 cm. Spacing intended for seed potato production, i.e. 75x15 and 75x21 cm, were desiccated. The absolute tuber yield was not affected by treatment. Any significant effect was not observed in the varieties Koruna and Javor, but in the variety Krasa, there was an evident positive response to spacing 75x40 cm. At first in the size category 3.5 to 6 cm, tuber representation in the total yield increased between spacings 75x15 and 75x21 cm in all varieties. Then it decreased proportionately with increasing distance. However, tuber yields increased from the distance between hills 15 cm through 21 to 29 cm and after that they decreased at 40 below the level of original yield of the distance 15 cm. The results confirmed the usefulness of the spacing 75x21 cm for multiplication crops.
