Sprinkle irrigation of 15,30,45,60,75,90,105 and 120mm and a control without irrigation were tested in a four-year-long field trial. Cotton yield in conditions of different water provision was positively correlated with plant height, length of sixth sympodium, number of sympodia, number of bolls harvested per plant, boll weight and the September harvest. Negative correlations were found between fiber output and: fiber length, metrical number and total yield. A negative correlation existed also between the fineness of fiber and its strength and the September harvest. The possitive correlation between fiber length,on one side, and:fiber strength and yield of not ginned cotton, on the other side is of importance. The changes in total yield are of an asymptotic curve type, yield rising along with the irrigation rate up to 90 mm.
